HERE IS A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OUR 34 YEARS IN BUSINESS

We have been in the repair and refinishing business since 1974. and have been expertly trained in all types of finishes on pianos and high end furniture.  We were trained by Yamaha in the touch up and repair of polyester surfaces (those beautiful mirror finished pianos). This is the most difficult of wood finishes to repair and is getting to be a lost art.  It's a complicated chemical process that very few want to tackel.  Why go to the rest when you can go to the best?  In our over 30 years of specilizing in the most difficult of wood repairs and refinishing, we have become the ones  those in the 'trade'  call when they need help with complicated repair and refinishing techniques on high end fine furniture and pianos.   Or when they botch up a job trying to do what we do, then they bring it to us to fix their mistakes.  To do it right it is a lot more involved than just stripping and slapping on a stain, it's an art and should be treated as such, there's no easy way to do it.  A family antique can be ruined and turned into just used furniture, if not done properly.  A cherished Steinway Grand piano can loose much of it's value if not done properly.  To refinish a grand piano takes at least a month or month and a half to do it right and have it look even better than it did in the showroom.  We have serviced all the piano stores in Houston and surrounding areas for 21 years, in Phoenix and surrounding areas for 8 years.  The stores come to us when they have transit damages to brand new pianos so that we can make them look showroom perfect.  And that is why you should choose us to do your piano or furniture repair and refinishing.  We do it right! We also will tell you if we think your piano is not worth refinishing and you would be better off in investing that money in a new one.

 We were one of the only polyester repair service companies on Long Island and our service area included over 150 miles in New York.

We moved to Texas in  

1979 and we were the only polyester repair service in the entire State of Texas for over 20 years.   We trained the nice people that bought our Texas business and they have been very successful at continuing Grand Finishes reputation in quality service to their clients. GRAND FINISHES OF TEXAS is now independently owned and operated.

The Nevada / California repair and refinisher, has been fully trained and worked as an apprentiss to our master refinisher for over 10 years, where he developed a keen eye for detail and an artful hand at refinishing and repairs to all wood surfaces.   This division has been in the area for over since 2001 and covers all of Northern Nevada and Northeastern California, including most fine furniture stores and piano stores in Reno, North and South Lake Tahoe covering a wide area in California, everything east of Sacramento as far as the eastern Nevada border. On occasion, we have gone into San Francisco and since we are only 6 hours from Southern California.   We have many clients in San Diego and Las Angeles, who send us their pianos to refinish.    In 2000 we opened our Arizona location and in 2002 we expanded further to include Northern Nevada and California. Thanks to all you wonderful folks that we have serviced in the past, your loyalty to our company has made it possible  and necessary to find still larger quarters.

We have had clients from all over the U.S. and even as far as Quito, Ecuador send us their pianos to repair and refinish.  

Previous to our service many people had to ship their pianos to Europe for their cabinet repairs and had to wait over a year for their pianos to be returned to them. Since we have moved to Arizona in 2000, we now are one of the only polyester repair professionals in the entire State of Arizona.   We have trained the new addition to our Grand Finishes family of craftsmen:  GRAND FINISHES ARIZONA.  Also Independently owned and operated, and was trained by our repair staff in this fine art of wood repairs done on location.

 Thanks to all you wonderful folks that we have serviced in the past, your loyalty to our company has made it possible  and necessary to find still larger quarters.  In February 2005 we opened a larger, better equipped facility, in the beautiful high desert mountains of Black Canyon City, just north of Phoenix. 

This  location will enable us to take in more refinishing and more complicated piano and furniture repairs.  Besides our Arizona clients we also do the refinishing and major repairs for our California and Nevada clients.
